2025-2027
Leadership Selection
We’re looking for dedicated people who are excited about leading Soapbox Women into its next phase of growth. The current board has accomplished so much over the past year, and it’s our time to share the power with others and allow new voices to lead this community forward.
Selection Process
WHO WE ARE:
Soapbox Women is a volunteer powered, non-profit, independent collective committed to championing and promoting women and gender non-conforming people in the entertainment, creative advertising, and marketing industries.
LEADERSHIP MISSION:
The fundamental mission of the Soapbox Leadership Team is to create strong leaders that can work together within the Soapbox Community and larger Entertainment Industry to promote connection, collaboration, and creativity.

LEADERSHIP COMMITMENT:
SBW leadership terms are two years. In year one, you’ll serve alongside the existing lead, who will train you on the responsibilities of the role and give you everything you need to be successful. In year two, you’ll be that leader who mentors and prepares your co-lead as they transition into your role. The leadership team meets virtually the second Saturday of every month, and the average weekly commitment for most of our members is 1-5 hours a week, based on your role.

A PEEK BEHIND THE CURTAIN:
We begin all Soapbox meetings and events with our honored agreements. A beloved part of our culture, the use of agreements sets the tone for a free exchange of ideas and opinions, respect for a diversity of views, and a shared responsibility for the well-being and direction of the group. These agreements speak directly to the values of our Soapbox Women leadership team.
WE AGREE TO:
-
Actively listen to each other with curiosity and compassion
-
Grant ourselves permission to bring up difficult questions or feedback
-
Make space for everyone
-
Hold this conversation and discussion in the safety of confidentiality
LEADERSHIP SELECTION PROCESS & CALENDAR:
To preserve momentum and progress, leadership selection is held every January.
Applications are blindly evaluated using a rubric by the current leadership team to ensure all candidates are fairly considered for their preferred leadership role. It doesn’t matter how connected, experienced, or “senior” you are; if you are passionate about Soapbox and committed to leadership, we welcome you to apply!
