About the event
In the next B3G conversation, we talk to two powerhouse women about starting a business in the marketing industry from the initial thought to full scale execution. Join us as we welcome Tami Shelly (Partner/Creative Director - Greenlight Creative) and Heidi Strock (Owner - See Spot Run Entertainment) to talk about the highs, the lows, and especially the hustle that comes with owning and operating your own business. Whether you’re wanting to start a company or even just go out on your own and freelance, these gals have lots of insight and wisdom to help guide your way.
TAMI SHELLY
Tami Shelly is the hands-on Owner and Creative Director at Greenlight Creative, Inc – a
women-owned design agency specializing in print and digital for the
entertainment industry. Greenlight was started in 1998 out of Tami's love for print design,
and quickly expanded as client’s needs evolved. With a diverse portfolio, Greenlight delivers
strategic and emotionally resonant creative that also successfully achieves business
goals. Holding both an executive and creative position, allows Tami a unique approach and
understanding to creative endeavors.
One of the many career highlights included seeing Greenlight Creative’s name and graphic
design contributions projected on to the iconic arc of the Hollywood Bowl at last
year’s Disney’s Little Mermaid Live.
As a testament to her work, she has achieved numerous award-winning projects, working
with a wide-range of clients at Warner Bros, Lionsgate, Fox, Disney, eOne, Amazon,
NBCUniversal, McCann, Grey and many others. She attributes her 20+ year success to the
commitment, agility and talent of the Greenlight Creative team.
HEIDI STROCK
Heidi Strock is the owner, creative director, producer, editor, writer, assistant editor, associate
producer, voiceover artist, talent scout, and bookkeeper (you get the idea here…) of See Spot
Run Entertainment.
She started her career as a news production intern at the NBC affiliate in Louisville, Kentucky.
After realizing being on camera as a news reporter is absolutely terrifying, she noticed that the
promotion department had the coolest job in the building. She was lucky enough to join that
very team a few years later…then moved on to the Dallas market to do the same thing with the
FOX O&O.
Seemingly out-of-reach dreams of moving to LA became a reality with an opportunity at E!
Entertainment. From there, Heidi went on to be a preditor at NBC, Stun Creative and ABC.
In 2018, in almost spur of the moment decision, she started See Spot Run—a mostly one-
woman-show that also frequently features the talents of the many awesome freelance
professionals she’s known in her career.
Heidi is married to a fellow TV marketing pro (an award-winning promo director, not to brag)
and is almost always surrounded by her three dogs, who she believes are just as cute and smart
as everyone else’s kids, dammit.
