We’re looking for dedicated women who are excited about leading Soapbox Women into its next phase of growth. The current board has accomplished so much over the past few years, and it’s our time to share the power with others and allow new voices to lead this community forward. 

Executive Board

TIME COMMITTMENT

  • 2-4 hours per week

  • Bimonthly leadership meetings

President

  • Oversee Executive Board and Leadership Committee

  • Facilitate biweekly board/committee meetings, upcoming events, and community programming.

  • Craft membership outreach/outline newsletters and announcements, host happy hours, and attend SBW events and panels.

  • Work alongside respective board members on one on one membership outreach, monitoring of Facebook and Instagram channels, and website, etc.

  •  Oversee organization operating budget.

VP Membership

  • Maintain Soapbox membership records and oversees the addition of new members to organization. 

  • Manage communication to membership including Facebook Group, Newsletter, and membership email account.

  • Prepares Executive Board and Leadership Committee agenda and minutes. 

  • Records attendance and manages check-in at all in person events.

  • Membership Committee includes: Soapbox Moms Chair, Membership Chair, and Partnership Chair

 

VP Public Relations

  • Oversee member engagement efforts on social media channels.

  • Assist in maintaining the website (alongside a dedicated multimedia chair), ideating and weighing in on our social calendar, opportunities for engagement, new ideas, etc. 

  • Brainstorm new ideas for member engagement to both increase membership and promote involvement and activity among current members.

  • Serve as a connective tissue for us all, seeking out diverse membership opportunities (i.e. maintaining our popular “Monday Member Spotlight” every week).

  • Public Relations Committee includes: Social Media Chairs and Content & Multimedia Chair

 

VP Programming

  • Coordinate in person event logistics for in-person events.

  • Facilitate panels/speakers for upcoming events.

  • Oversee New Connection monthly events.

  • Generate ideas and collaborate with others on new programming opportunities.

  • Programming Committee includes: Panel Chair and Events Logistics Chair

 

VP Finance

  • Balance the monthly and yearly budget, file taxes at years end, ensure all money from events is received, deposited and noted/balanced.

  • Administer reimbursements when necessary.

  • Handle all communication with the bank (partner with President as necessary)

  • Maintain organization bylaws and ensure they are upheld.

 

VP Mentorship

  • Oversee Between Three Gals Mentorship AMA monthly series.

  • Generate ideas and collaborate with others on new mentorship opportunities.

 

VP Culture & Equity

  • Set milestones and goals with the Executive Board to ensure execution of the Soapbox 2.0 Diversity and Inclusion plan.

  • Send out regular progress check surveys to the membership and use results to shape next steps.

  • Ensure an inclusive approach to event programming by building relationships with potential panelists to bring diverse voices and perspectives to our panels and workshops.

  • Oversee the Culture & Equity Committee that will research and build relationships with organizations outside of Soapbox Women that are looking for mentors, internships, and access to our industry, and take the lead on devising ways to connect them with our members.

  • Build, edit and update our website on an as needed basis -- co-ordinate and curate  original and stock imagery for website and socials. 

  • Secure social media handles, domain names and emails for Soapbox

  • Maintain socials (hold login info, manage owners, etc): Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn.

  • Assist in capturing original Board pictures and event photos. 

 

Social Media Chair

  • Oversee the Soapbox Women brand look and logo. 

  • Create website and social GFX as needed.

 

PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE

 

Panel Chair

  • Come up with ideas for future panels

  • Suggest potential panelists and moderators

  • Reach out to potential panelists and moderators to secure participation

  • Coordinate with panelists prior to events, including collecting bios and sharing panel questions 

  • Assist the moderators and rest of Programming Committee in coming up with questions for panels 

  • Engage Soapbox community to find out what kind of panels they'd like to see/what questions they'd like asked 

 

Event Logistics Chair

  • Secure locations for Soapbox events

  • Run logistics for events, per coordination with location teams (agency contacts, etc.)

  • Assist Panel Chair with coordination of panels and guest speakers

 

CULTURE & EQUITY COMMITTEE

 

Culture & Equity Committee Member

  • Research and build relationships with organizations outside of Soapbox Women that are looking for mentors, internships, and access to our industry, and take the lead on devising ways to connect them with our members.


SOAPBOX MOMS COMMITTEE

 

Soapbox Moms Chair

  • Maintain a safe space for moms, moms-to-be, and not-yet-moms to gather and connect.

  • Ensure that all events and messages align with the SBW mission statement to empower, promote, and protect women.

  • Brainstorm and plan the year’s events and assist with logistics for events.

  • Help moderate FB group and send out surveys periodically to gauge what the needs of the group are.

  • Host a variety of events alongside other members.

 

Soapbox Moms Committee Member

  • Host a variety of events alongside other members.

  • Brainstorm and plan new events with the SB Moms Chair.

  • Moderate FB Group and come up with ideas for new offerings based on need

  • Arrange logistics for events.

  • Share inspiring and relevant content to the FB Group and engage with other members' content.
